How Do You Create a Profitable Holiday Campaign?
The holidays are a time for family, celebration… and shopping. For online retailers and entrepreneurs, that makes the next few months very important.
You’ve probably already given some thought to your holiday promotions. Maybe you’ve even started coming up with your offers and building your landing pages.
So, we thought this would be the perfect time to provide you with a few tips we’ve learned from our own promotions.
Here are 5 tips to help you have your best holiday sales season yet!
1. Review your previous holiday campaigns
Before you start looking ahead to this year’s promotions it’s a good idea to look back to last year. Ask yourself the following questions:
- What worked well?
- What could be improved?
- Did you notice any trends?
- Where are the opportunities for growth?
Based on your answers, you should be able to put together a winning strategy for your upcoming campaigns. You can also come up with some realistic goals.
2. Create holiday-themed pages
Shoppers are looking for holiday sales this time of year. If your pages look like they always do it might not be obvious that you’re running any promotions. So, it’s a good idea to create some holiday-themed pages.
This could include:
- Updating your hero section with holiday sales information
- Creating holiday-themed landing pages for your campaigns (check out the gallery for holiday-themed templates)
- Pop-ups and alerts bars to promote any sales or special offers
Get creative and show your holiday spirit!
3. Give early access to existing customers
This time of year, business owners are often focused on finding new customers. But it’s also a great opportunity to continue building relationships with existing customers.
If you’re planning a special holiday promotion, consider emailing your customers and giving them early access. This offers a number of benefits:
- It makes your customers feel special
- It’s great for customer retention
- It allows you to start your sales early
For the best results, make sure your customers know the early access is only for them and they should act fast before the sale is released to the general public.
4. Bundle products to increase order values
Product bundles are popular with customers as they provide great value. They’re also good for business since they increase your average order value.
There are two ways you can approach product bundles:
- Create a holiday-themed bundle with some of your most popular products
- Use upsells and order bumps during checkout to encourage customers to add items to their order
This is a great strategy for anyone that wants to boost revenue.
5. Extend your deals for late shoppers
Not everyone will be able to take advantage of your holiday promotions, so it’s often a good idea to extend them to capture some last-minute shoppers.
You can either add a few extra days to your previous offer, or create a new offer specifically those who missed out on the first one.
Either way, it will build goodwill with your customers and should earn you a few extra sales.
Good luck with your holiday campaigns and if there’s anything we can do to help don’t hesitate to reach out!
